How do I choose between two sizes?
Choose the size that fits the bust or hips, the measurement that is hardest to alter. A tailor can usually adjust the waist and the length. See how to measure for dresses and jumpsuits.
Why does the same size label fit differently between brands?
Each brand draws its own pattern and sets its own body measurements for each size. Compare your measurements with the brand's chart, not with the size you usually wear.
What length should a party dress be?
A midi, between the knee and the calf, is the most flexible choice for cocktail and evening events. Read the full party dress guide for the reasons.
How do I care for a jumpsuit or a knit top?
Follow the care label first. As general guidance, turn jumpsuits inside out, hang them by the shoulders, and dry knitwear flat. See the jumpsuit guide and the black choker top guide.
What do I do if the invitation gives no dress code?
Look at the time of day, the venue and the season, then dress one step above the most casual guest you expect. The dress codes guide explains each term.
How long before a new skincare product shows an effect?
Most products need four to six weeks of regular use. Change only one product at a time. The ten-minute routine guide sets out a simple order.
Can I build a wardrobe on a small budget?
Yes. Start with the nine-piece daywear capsule and add pieces only when they combine with at least three things you already own. Read the daywear capsule guide.
