Style notes for dressing well

About Hemline Journal

Hemline Journal is an independent style journal about dressing well: dresses, daywear, jumpsuits, dress codes, sizing and simple beauty routines.

What we publish

We publish long, practical guides. Each one starts from a question a reader actually asks, such as how a bardot neckline should sit or what smart casual means on an invitation. The guide answers that question first, then explains the reasoning, then gives a tool or checklist you can use.

How the guides are checked

Each guide names the sources it relies on at the end of the article, usually general reference bodies and garment-care guidance. Where a figure is given, such as a dermatology recommendation or a size range, the page says what it is based on. If you find an error, use the contact page and we will correct the article and note the change.

What this site is not

Hemline Journal is not a shop and does not sell clothing or beauty products. The guides mention product types, not brands, and no guide is a paid recommendation. Sizing tools give starting points only; the size chart of the brand you buy from always decides.

Who is behind it

The journal is run by its own editorial team under the name Hemline Journal. You can read the publisher details on the legal notice page.
